Joint New Year Message from Tamil Organizations and Entities World-wide, Supporting Tamils in Sri Lanka

On this New Year’s Day, January 1, 2013, the Tamil organizations around the world pledge their renewed commitment to work together to bring justice, peace and dignity to our Tamil people living in the island of Sri Lanka. We also pledge to lend our support and assistance to any organizations or entities that work for the rights of the Eelam Tamils living in the island.
With our diverse backgrounds, we are united in voicing for our people who have been oppressed by the Sri Lankan State for decades, and subjected to pogroms, war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide. We are concerned and acutely aware of the continuing oppressive conditions in the Tamil region with military occupation, demographic changes, violence against women and the military rule imposed by Sri Lanka.
We pledge to continue to garner the support of the International Community and the United Nations institutions to set up independent international investigations for the grave crimes committed against our people and bring prosecutions against alleged perpetrators.
At this propitious time of year, we call for a peaceful and prosperous world with equality and freedom for all.

இலங்கைத் தீவில் வாழும் எம் தமிழ் மக்களுக்கு நீதியும் சமாதானமும் கிடைக்கும் பொருட்டு ஒன்றுபட்டு உழைப்போமென்று சனவரி 1> 2013 ஆகிய இன்றைய புத்தாண்டு நாளில் உலகளாவிய தமிழ் அமைப்புக்கள் மீண்டும் தமது கடப்பாட்டை வழங்குகின்றன. அத்துடன் இலங்கைத்தீவில் வாழும் ஈழத் தமிழர்களின் உரிமைகளுக்காகப் பணியாற்றும் அனைத்து அமைப்புக்களுக்கும்> நிறுவனங்களுக்கும் எமது ஆதரவையும் உதவிகளையும் நல்குவோமென்ற உறுதிமொழியையும் வழங்குகின்றோம்.
பல்திறன் வாய்ந்த பல்வேறு பின்னணிகளைக் கொண்ட நாம்> பல தசாப்தங்களாக சிறிலங்கா அரசால் திட்டமிட்ட இன அழிப்புக்கள்> போர்க்குற்றங்கள்> மானிடத்திற்கெதிரான குற்றங்கள்> மற்றும் இனப் படுகொலைகள் ஆகியவற்றிற்கு உட்படுத்தப்பட்டு ஒடுக்கப்பட்டுவரும் எம் மக்களுக்காகக் குரல் கொடுக்க ஒன்றுபட்டு நிற்கிறோம். தமிழ்ப் பிரதேசத்தில் அத்துமீறிய இராணுவக் குடியமர்வு> குடிசனப்பரம்பல் மாற்றங்கள்> பெண்களுக்கெதிரான வன்முறை> சிறிலங்கா அரசால் வலிந்து திணிக்கப்படும் இராணுவ ஆட்சி எனத் தொடரும் ஒடுக்குமுறைச் சூழல் குறித்து நாம் மிகுந்த கரிசனை கொண்டுள்ளோம்.
எமது மக்களுக்கெதிராக இழைக்கப்பட்ட கொடுங்குற்றச் செயல்கள் பற்றிச் சுயாதீனமான அனைத்துலக விசாரணைகளை நடத்த அனைத்துலகச் சமூகத்தினதும்> ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபையின் அமைப்புக்களினதும் ஆதரவைத் திரட்டத் தொடர்ந்து முயல்வோம் என்றும்> கொடுஞ்செயல் புரிந்தவர்களென அடையாளப்படுத்தப்பட்டோரைச் சட்டநடவடிக்கைக்கு உட்படுத்துவோம் என்றும் நாம் உறுதிமொழி வழங்குகின்றோம்.
இந்தப் புத்தாண்டு நல்ல நாளில்> எல்லோரும் சமத்துவமும் சுதந்திரமும் பெற்ற> அமைதியும் செல்வச்செழிப்பும் நிறைந்த உலகை நாம் வேண்டிநிற்கிறோம்.
