NPC Resolution Requesting Assistance on Teachers & MDs

The recent resolution by the Northern Provincial Council requesting assistance from India and Tamil Nadu governments.
The following resolution was tabled by the
Council Member Hon M.K. Shivajilingam and
adopted by the Northern Provincial Council in Sri Lanka on May 22, 2014
RESOLUTION
Calling upon India to provide Tamil speaking doctors, and teachers for English and Information Technology to serve in the Northern and Eastern Provinces:
 
1.    We seek Indian assistance to alleviate the acute shortage of medical doctors in the Northern and Eastern Provinces, and request India to send Tamil speaking doctors to serve for two years.
2.    We seek Indian assistance to alleviate the acute shortage of teachers for English, and Information Technology, and request India to send Tamil speaking teachers for English, and Information Technology to serve for two years.
3.    This Council of the Northern Provincial Government calls upon the Government of India, the Tamil Nadu State Government, and the Government of Sri Lanka to take necessary steps and grant required permissions to facilitate the services of the doctors and teachers of English and Information Technology in the Northern and Eastern Provinces.
