Continued Restrictions on Travel

The information was emailed to me by a person who experienced it.--Editor

Travellers with foreign passports who attended Mamanithar MP Joseph Pararajasingam's funeral, returning from Batticaloa via A5, were stopped at Chenkalady Army Check Point and denied access through the LTTE-controlled area to return to Colombo.  They had to go back and travel on roads controlled by the Sri Lanka government.

Though the Government has issued statements that the media reports on travel restrictions for foreign passport holders were false and that there is no restrictions on travel, the army personnel are making the decision to restrict travel on the ground.

The question is whether the GOSL is lying to the international community and the people of Sri Lanka or has the GOSL lost control of the Armed Forces?
