Satchi Dr. Ananthan tribute

Satchi Memorial Final

Dear Tamil Americans,

On Friday November 27th we lost one of our founding members, Dr. Ananthan Satchi. Born in 1939 and raised in Malaysia, he received his medical degree from the University of Colombo. He moved to the United States in 1971 and worked as an Anesthesiologist until his retirement. Since forming the Ilankai Tamil Sangam in 1977 with the other founding members, Dr. Satchi gave his unconditional support to the Sangam for the past 38 years. He has extended his philanthropic activities through Sangam and his generosity has helped improved the lives of orphans, war widows and disabled freedom fighters.

Surviving Dr. Satchi, along with his wife, Mrs. Srihari Satchi, of 47 years are his son, Mylan, his daughter, Darshini, and three grandchildren.

Ilankai Tamil Sangam posthumously bestow the title of “Most Eminent Tamil American” to Late Dr. Ananthan Satchi in recognition of his decades long dedication to the development and freedom of Eelam Tamils. In the 38 year history of Sangam, this will be the first posthumous title recognition bestowed. Sangam is honored in recognizing one of its founding fathers.

May his soul rest in peace.

Sincerely

Ilankai Tamil Sangam USA
