Please see below a statement issued by Amnesty International on May 2. A journalist mentioned in the statement, J.S. Tissainayagam, remains detained without charge and has not been receiving the specialist medical care that his eye condition requires. Please visit this site and write to the Sri Lankan government on his behalf. Thank you for your consideration. Seven media workers have been killed in Jaffna since the beginning of May 2006, four of these working with Uthayan. |
