MURDER & SILENCE

Sir Stuart Rose, Marks & Spencer’s CEO, 2008:

"I deeply appreciate Sri Lanka’s ethical standards...Sri Lanka set standards which others will and should follow"

SOME OF THE STANDARDS SET BY SRI LANKA:

*Repeated indiscriminate bombing and shelling of hospitals, schools and refugee camps. Over 3000 Tamils civilians killed since Jan 2009 - Human Rights watch & UN

*The highest number of disappearances and abductions in the world, even surpassing Iraq – UN Working group in involuntary disappearances 2007 & 2008.

*Extra-judicial killings of Tamil civilians with impunity - over 100,000 in the last 25 years, over 7000 in the last 5 years.

*Sri Lanka Armed Forces - Rape and torture of women and children.

*Killing of journalists and banning of media in Tamil areas to hide the truth

*Banning of aid agencies in Tamil areas and preventing essential food and medicines into the Tamil areas thus causing starvation and death.
