Support for University Students from the Vanni

Dear Comrades

It is not a hidden secret and every one of you are aware of the Pathetic situation the students from Vanni, who are in the Sri Lankan Universities are undergoing for the last few months, with no care whatsoever from any quarter. Very many of them have not had a square meal for days, but are still determined to complete. The clothing they are wearing has got worn off, the difficulties they are undergoing are tremendous and it cannot be said in words and deeds.

Here is an opportunity for every one of you to rise to the occasion and help these students to get over their difficulties.

In order for these students to get the basic needs, each of these students needs a minimum of Rs. 5,000 monthly. This works out to be Rs. 60,000 per annum and it costs almost £340.

The information of the students have been forwarded to us by the Students Union. However, you are at full liberty to check to the veracity whether the information is correct or not, before you embark on sponsoring a student.

We won’t be surprised very many of these students would have lost their Kith and Kin, due to the brutal war; they have no one to appeal to. So it would be a timely occasion if we could group together and help these students.

These meritorious acts you would be under taking will definitely have the blessings of Lord Mighty for you and your family.
