South Asia Research and Information Institute (SARII) and The Asian Studies Program of Southern Methodist University present an one-day conference entitled "Alternative Ramayanas: Variations in an Epic Tradition" on Saturday, September 24, 2011.

Scholars will discuss aspects of Ramayana in different versions from North India, Jain, South East Asia, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Andhra.
