[In the original issue, the villages are listed for the Northern Province and Eastern Province under each District in their Alphabetical Order. These Districts were Jaffna, Mannar, and Mullaitivu for the Northern Province and Trincomalee and Batticaloa for the Eastern Province. For the boundries of the five Districts See Plate XIII. These documents are avaliable at the National Archives, Colombo. The Vedda villages and the Sinhalese villages had been identificed in the present list which is not found in the originals. These are the only villages that have existed historivally in the North East Province exervising their customary rights.]
