Fourth Annual Fund Raising Event on Sunday June 8, 2003

                                                                                    14^th May 2003

Dear Friends,

I am happy to once again write to you on behalf of the Tamils Rehabilitation Organization (TRO), and extend an invitation to the above event. The cease-fire in SriLanka has brought an end to the senseless killing. But the suffering of our people who have endured years of war, continues. There have been great promises of funds flowing into many projects, but nothing has materialized so far.

TRO is in the forefront in Vanni and other areas in SriLanka meeting day to day need of the people and also implementing long term development projects. 

TRO is appealing to the Tamil community in USA for the fourth consecutive year for funds.  In the past you have very generously contributed to TRO knowing that every dollar collected reached our people in SriLanka. This year we have specifically earmarked the funds to the following projects: 

1.                   Vanni Tech – A technology institute in Vanni

2.                   Jaffna General Hospital Development Assoc. – An organization that purchase medical equipment to the hospital - President – Dr. Ambalavanar Jaffna Teaching Hospital

3.                   CANE – Cancer Aid for the North and East; this organization provide care and support to cancer patients and their families. Ultimately hopes to build a cancer hospital in Jaffna

                                President – Dr Sadhumuham Jaffna Teaching Hospital

4.                   Punitha Boomi – A center  for orphan children run by TRO and supported by TRO USA

The event will be held on Sunday 8^th June from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Jewish Center at

96 Jefferson Boulevard, Edison New Jersey. Dinner will be served.

The Bishop of Jaffna, Rev.Jebanesan will be the guest speaker.

I humbly beg of you to make a contribution to TRO in order to continue our efforts. An anonymous donor has volunteered to match all contributions.
