The Ilankai Tamil Sangam, USA, is an association of Tamils from the island of Sri Lanka (formerly Ceylon) now residing in the United States of America.
Formed in 1977, the Sangam is the oldest association of these Tamils in the United States of America.
The Purposes of the association:
[a] To provide a meeting ground for Tamils and Tamil speaking people from Sri Lanka resident in the United States of America
[b] To promote & study the appreciation of Tamil culture, language and music among the Tamils resident in the USA
[c] To foster the growth and development of art, culture, economy, human rights and general welfare of Tamils and Tamil speaking people resident in the Island known now as Sri Lanka.
[d] To publicize facts about the condition and welfare of the Tamil speaking people of Sri Lanka
Membership to Ilankai Tamil Sangam, USA is open to anyone interested in the welfare of the Tamils of Eelam. To apply for membership online, go to http://www.sangamevents.org/membership/ . To apply by mail, print out the Sangam Membership Form 2022(PDF) and mail it to the address on the form.
The Sangam is administered according to its constitution by its officers, including its president, secretary, and treasurer, and a committee. Information on committee meetings is available on the calendar of events. Information on events put on by the Sangam is available at www.sangamevents.org.
The Sangam is a 501(c)3 corporation under the laws of the United States. Donations to the Sangam are therefore tax-deductible in the US. Contribute to the Sangam.

The editorial committee welcomes unsolicted articles, announcements of events, community information, and other materials.
Submissions should contain something relevant to Sri Lankan Tamils and must not contain personal attacks. The Sangam reserves the right to deny publication and the right to alter submissions in any way seen fit.
You are requested to submit work as part of an email body or either .doc (Microsoft Word) or .pdf (Portable Document) format. Please do not use any white-space formatting, and please keep bold and italics to a minimum. If you are not a regular contributor, it is highly recommended that you include your piece in the email body.
