Joint New Year Message from World-wide Tamil Entities:
A Solemn Pledge to Work for International Investigation

On this New Year’s Day, January 1, 2014, Tamil entities around the world pledge our renewed commitment to bring freedom, justice, peace and dignity to our Tamil brethren living in the occupied NorthEast of Sri Lanka. With our diverse backgrounds we are united in working for our people who have been oppressed by the successive Sri Lankan regimes since “independence” in 1948, and pledge to work against the continuing oppression of the Tamil Nation.
We highlight that the Tamil people don’t have any faith in the government of Sri Lanka and have democratically provided an overwhelming mandate for an independent international investigation in the Northern Provincial Council election held in September 2013. We point out to the International Community that even after two resolutions by the United Nations Human Rights Council, Sri Lanka is defiant, denying justice and political rights to the Tamils. We note that the Sri Lanka’s domestic Commission of Inquiry even with the participation of the International Independent Group of Eminent Persons from 11 countries failed to offer justice to the Tamils in 2008.
We reject any and all domestic inquiry mechanisms, and fully commit ourselves to mobilize the International Community to establish an independent international investigation by the United Nations to investigate war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide against the Tamils.
At this propitious time of year, we call for a peaceful world thriving with justice, equality and freedom for all.

சிறிலங்கா இராணுவ ஆக்கிரமிப்பிற்கு உட்பட்டு இருக்கும் வடக்குக்கிழக்கில் வாழும் எம் உடன்பிறந்த தமிழ்மக்களுக்கு விடுதலையும், நீதியும், நிலையான அமைதியும் கிடைக்க ஒன்றுபட்டு உழைப்போமென்று புத்தாண்டுநாளாகிய சனவரி 1, 2014 இல் உலகளாவிய தமிழ் உருவாக்கங்கள் சார்பாக மீண்டும் எமது உறுதிப்பாட்டைவழங்குகின்றோம். இலங்கைத் தீவு “சுதந்திரம்” பெற்ற 1948ஆம் ஆண்டு முதல், சிறிலங்கா அரசினால்ஒடுக்கப்பட்டுவரும் எம் மக்களுக்காகக் குரல் கொடுக்க, பல்வேறு பின்னணிகளைக் கொண்ட நாம் அனைவரும்ஒன்றுபட்டு நிற்கின்றோம். அத்துடன் தமிழ்த் தேசத்தின்மீது தொடரும் ஒடுக்குமுறையை எதிர்த்துநிற்போம் எனஉறுதியளிக்கின்றோம்.
செப்டம்பர் 2013 இல் நடந்த வடக்கு மாகாண அவைத் தேர்தலில், சிறிலங்கா அரசில் தமக்கு அண்ணளவு நம்பிக்கையும் இல்லையென்பதை வெளிப்படுத்தியும், பக்கசார்பற்ற பன்னாட்டு விசாரணையை வேண்டியும், மக்களாட்சி முறைப்படி தமிழ் மக்கள் கொடுத்த மிகப் பெரும் ஆணைக்கு நாம் முதன்மைத்துவம் அளிக்கின்றோம்.ஐ.நா. மனித உரிமைகள் பேரவையில் இரண்டு முறை நிறைவேற்றப்பட்ட தீர்மானங்களைப் புறந்தள்ளி, தமிழ்மக்களுக்கு நீதியையும் அரசியல் உரிமையையும் கொடுக்க மறுக்கும் சிறிலங்கா அரசின் எதேச்சையான போக்கைநாம் அனைத்துலக சமூகத்திற்குச் சுட்டிக் காட்டுகின்றோம். 2008 ஆம் ஆண்டில் “அனைத்துலக பக்கசார்பற்றபேராளர் குழுமம்“ என்று, பதினொரு பன்னாட்டுப் புகழ்மிக்க வல்லுனர்களை உள்ளடக்கியும் கூட, சிறிலங்கா அரசின்உள்ளக விசாரணை ஆணைக்குழு தமிழர்களுக்கு நீதிவழங்கத் தவறியதை நாம் எடுத்துக் காட்டுகின்றோம்.
ஆக, அனைத்து உள்நாட்டு விசாரணைப் பொறிமுறைகளையும் நாம் அடியோடு நிராகரிக்கிறோம். எமதுமக்களுக்கெதிராக இழைக்கப்பட்ட போர்க்குற்றங்கள், மானிடத்திற்கெதிரான குற்றங்கள், இனப்படுகொலைஆகியவற்றை ஆய்ந்து பொறுப்புக்கூறும் பக்கசார்பற்ற பன்னாட்டு விசாரணையை ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் அவையின்துணையுடன் உருவாக்குவதற்கு அனைத்துலகச் சமூகத்தின் ஆதரவை அணிதிரட்ட இப்புத்தாண்டில் உறுதிஎடுத்துக்கொள்கின்றோம்.
இந்த மங்களகரமான புத்தாண்டு நன்நாளில், நீதியும் சமத்துவமும் சுதந்திரமும் தழைத்தோங்கும் அமைதி நிறைந்தஉலகை, நாம் வேண்டி நிற்கின்றோம்.
