Gift for your Kids:

You may bring a wrapped gift, with your Child’s name, in the $10 – $15 price range to be given to them by Santa.  Please provide your child’s name and the gift to the designated BTA member well before the arrival of SANTA.

Gift to be shipped to needy children in Sri Lanka:

We are trying this out for the first time.  We request each child to bring an un-wrapped gift not exceeding $10 and a Christmas Card preferably drawn by them with a personal note, and drop off the gift into a box provided for this purpose.  At the end of the evening we will ship this box to Herman’s Home in, Kalmunai, Batticaloa, Sri Lanka to reach them before Christmas day.  This is totally voluntary and anyone can contribute if they wish.  A list of items that will be needed by the kids is available to help your purchase.  Please be mindful to purchase lightweight items to reduce the cost of shipping.

santa winkJaffna Hospital Development Association.

Several members of the BTA community have inquired if we had plans to reach out to our people in any way.  Now that we enjoy the privilege of being a Non-profit charitable organization, for the first time we have decided to conduct a charity fund raising event.  We have decided to donate the total proceeds towards the Jaffna Hospital Development Association Fund.  The proceeds from BTA will be towards a specific project conducted by the JGHDA.  Please feel free to visit their Web Site at http://www.jafhos.org/  to learn more about this project.  Many of us are aware of several organizations back home, specially in the NorthEast which have a need for similar charitable contributions.  Unfortunately, our resources are limited and we are unable to reach out to several of them at the same time.  We picked the above institution this year, mainly because of its registered NGO status, and the services performed by this organization.  We are confident that in years to come, our association will be able to help many other needy organizations in better ways.

We will be having a $2 raffle and an Auction to support the above Charity.  We hope that our members will support this cause generously.  Together we could make a difference in the lives of our people back home.

Most importantly, please join us on the 4th of December and have a wonderful time with your friends and family!!!
